DC Sharing Session
Representing CT, Lily’s Kids Inc. attended an invitation-only national Text4baby meeting in Washington, D.C. with Audie Atienza Ph.D. lead for HHS task force on Text4health, Paul Meyers and Pamela Johnson from Voxiva and several other key state Text4baby partners. Lily Gagliardi DaCruz, Founder & C.E.O. of Lily’s Kids Inc., and Amy Gagliardi, C.O.O. of Lily’s Kids Inc., attended an information sharing meeting for Text4baby in Washington, D.C. on March 22 & 23, 2011. Of over 500 Text4baby partners from across the country, only a handful of key partners were invited to attend this meeting. Along with key partners from New York, Pennsylvania, Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, Connecticut and California, attendees met with Paul Meyer and Pamela Johnson, co-founders of Voxiva, an international mobile health technology company and with Audie Atienza PhD, Senior Health Technology Advisor at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and lead of the HHS task force on Text4health.
Text4baby, a program of the National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition, is a free mobile text messaging health education service designed to promote maternal and child health and targeting pregnant women and families with children up to one year of age. It was developed in response to the critical problem of preterm birth and infant mortality in the United States.
Lily’s Kids Inc. A Non-profit Organization for Children is dedicated to ensuring that all children have a healthy start in life. Primary focus areas of Lily’s Kids Inc. include Maternal and Child Health and the prevention of heart disease in children. Lily’s Kids Inc. is the Connecticut State lead agency for Text4baby.
